Now that the major GPI SEO project is over (GeoIP removed, no major changes in domains) we should explore SEO solutions that allow our editor to to customize meta data (beyond the excerpt) and increase their organic reach.

As mentioned in the idea https://planet4.greenpeace.org/idea/seo-meta-data-customisation-feature/ - GP France developed an SEO feature on their WP website slightly customising the YOAST SEO plugin https://yoast.com/ and apparently reaching interesting results in terms of organic ranking See Slides presented by GP France

In parallel with the Yoast Plugin review (PLANET-5290) this task should include:

• full functionality matrix
• capture of best practices used by GP France
• price and permissions model
• GO/NO Go recommendation from a P4 Admin point of view
• results that justifies an actual benefit from the SEO point of view
• gap analysis in case we need to customise it / change it / adapt it to P4
• recommendation for one or more alternative in case of NO-Go on YOAST
• any other useful info that allow the P4 team to make a solid SEO choice
