My guess is that we rely on some styles from the Articles block which are no longer there when the plugin is deactivated. We need to make sure they are not needed anymore.

My guess was completely wrong it's because in the plugin we add some custom margin values to elements of the editor, and we implemented the Posts List editor styles accordingly... but without these margins it breaks.
