Summary

A native lightbox implementation was added in WP 6.4. The implementation also includes an "Expand on click" sidebar option for the Image block, which doesn't work with our implementation.

We can create a PoC PR, deployed in a test instance based on the requirements below. And then ask for the Design team to test it out and decide if it's good enough to replace our own implementation.

Requirements

• Completely remove our own implementation.
• Test if we can have the sidebar option enabled by default through theme.json.
• Test if the native implementation covers any other image besides the Image block.
