Summary
Currently, almost 40% of the petitions on Planet 4 are not being attributed to the Global Project they are associated with. The Global Project can be set under "Analytics & Tracking", with all projects listed in a dropdown, but it has to be done manually and is often overlooked. The GPI Data Team is trying to limit the amount of petitions that are "not set" for their analysis, and one of the things they have asked us to do is to make the Global Project mandatory for pages with petitions.
But, there is no "petition" page type, petitions are being used on all different page types, so it isn't as easy as making it mandatory for one specific page type.
Options:
1. Make the Global Project field mandatory on pages that contain a Gravity Form block
2. Create a toggle that the site admin can use that makes the Global Project mandatory if they decide
3. Add the Global Project field to the Gravity Forms setup below the Form Goal
Personally I think option 1 or 3 makes the most sense!
Requirements
- Decide if it is easier to make the Global Project field mandatory in the Analytics and Tracking setting directly on each page OR add the Global Project dropdown field when someone creates a Gravity Form
- Implement one of the above, maybe with an error message that explains the Global Project field is mandatory for forms if the user doesn't fill select a project
- (Molly will add a "not applicable/other" field to the Global Projects source spreadsheet)
