The scroll listener for loading the next page of posts is executed on every single scroll start, regardless of where in the list the user is. So if a user does 5 tiny scroll movements (could be up and down), this will always load 5 more pages (and so the browser also needs to get all those images), even though he never scrolled passed the first page.
